Forecast for March 2010

Forecast for March 2010

FOR EVERYONE ~ Increasing momentum. We all know things are changing. So far, the changes have been comparatively slow to take effect. We have been able to keep track and adjust smoothly, more or less. As of now, the pace of change will increase. We'll have to change more things more quickly. A lot of it will be out of our hands. In many cases, our personal life will just have to give way. Old relationships could become more intense as we, and those close to us, make adjustments, and allowances for each other. New relationships, including romantic relationships, could easily start up. However, all new relationships - personal, professional and/or romantic - could quickly become complicated and demanding, competing with old relationships for our time and attention. We will have to make choices. Events could take on a bittersweet tone.
ARIES ~ Decision. You know what's at stake. Things must change, and soon. Your input is pivotal and in many cases, your decision will be final. You have to move very carefully to avoiding stepping on toes. You are bound to surprise and upset someone, though. Many, maybe even some of your closest friends and allies, are still not ready for this. You have to go ahead anyway. But there is enough flexibility in your relationships. They will weather this change. Some bitterness could linger, but everyone will eventually adjust, forgive and forget.
TAURUS ~ Between the raindrops. You sense the strain and worry as others fight to protect what is important to them during this difficult transition. Things could get emotional. You'll need to keep things moving forward, even though you know people are upset and worried. With a little effort, you can also keep your own plans on track. Your personal focus, though, will be on healing. In the past, some things in your life cost you more than you could afford to pay, emotionally and otherwise. You'll want to change those things.
GEMINI ~ Hot-spot. If you were expecting to sit out the latest round of controversies, think again. You'll find yourself in the middle of it all, somehow. Whatever the issue at a given moment, tread lightly around your boss. He or she is dealing intensely with the same issues and might take what you say the wrong way. Diplomatic evasions might be your best option. Despite the tensions, or because of them, there could be the occasional romantic overtone, or undertone. If you let a flirtation turn into something serious, be prepared for complexities.
CANCER ~ Realism. Financially, you'll have a surprising amount of room to maneuver, despite the economic challenges faced by key associates. Your economic initiatives will bear immediate fruit and enhance long-term prospects. However, you must be patient with employers, partners and other influential figures who are struggling mightily with tough issues that affect everyone, including you. There's also a lot of garden variety confusion over what is to be done. A disciplined, patient approach is best. Efforts to resolve financial problems could stimulate romantic involvements and/or add complexity to existing relationships.
LEO ~ Charisma. You have an almost uncanny ability to make progress where others find obstacles and get answers when others are stymied. And while worry and struggle wear others down, the stuff going on just seems to enhance your personal appeal. Your seemingly magical ability to cope in these tough times adds to your charisma. That could easily attract romantic overtures. But new romantic ties could bring unforeseen responsibilities that you might find overwhelming. Try to remain romantically detached. Help others tap the power of new ideas in addressing their challenges.
VIRGO ~ End run. Avenues that seem blocked early in March will begin to open up by the end of the month. Progress could still be slow, however, and discussions lengthy. Your bargaining position is not as strong as you might hope and conditions on the ground are very complex. Fortunately, certain powerful figures are sympathetic to your cause and seem willing to lend a hand, although you might need to work through intermediaries. This will allow you to stay in the running while the really big issues get sorted out. Slowly.
LIBRA ~ The generosity of others. You don't have much room to maneuver. Others do, but there's a lot of confusion about which way to go - and a lot of the so-called options are unrealistic. You can benefit others, and increase their generosity toward you, by helping them sort through the possibilities in a realistic way. In the process, you can further your own goals and perhaps increase your income. In the immediate future, your well-being will depend increasingly on cooperation with others. Conditions on the job will continue to improve.
SCORPIO ~ The big picture. You have a broad understanding of events. You have friends on all sides of the issues. To win, you need everyone to come out ahead. You have to keep working at it until everybody feels the same way, and you have just enough influence to make that happen. Benevolent planetary influences are affecting your social life generally and your relations with youngsters in particular. Financial pressures will ease, too. A personal interest in unusual phenomena or unconventional ideas will soon attract the interest and support of others.
SAGITTARIUS ~ Outreach. Tighter finances are leading to changed expectations. Family, friends and community are also being affected. It will take extensive and repeated discussions to get to the bottom of all this. Participation in social events will help everyone manage needed changes. Renew and strengthen vital personal ties with family, friends and neighbors. Personal alliances will help you make the adjustments required by new circumstances. Your mind is becoming a fertile source of new and sometimes unconventional ideas. A new romantic attachment is possible. It would dramatically expand your personal horizons.
New foundations. This is just the beginning of a long cycle of change in many areas of your life, personal and professional. The powers that be are laying the groundwork for a whole new way of doing things. They are changing the basic rules of the game and that is always a slow, painstaking process with lots of unintended consequences. New, unconventional and innovative ideas will soon become the norm. It could put a strain on important relationships. You'll need to be especially careful to keep family, friends and other loved ones updated.
AQUARIUS ~ Breakout. Aquarians are preparing for a big transition. Slow and gradual, at first, it will eventually pick up speed. It will get fully under way during the next year or so. For many years, now, privacy, often deep solitude, has been your preference. That is ending. You will re-emerge into the life of your community as a source of new ideas and an active agent for change. You can expect abundant support during this dramatic shift. In fact, it corresponds with a new cycle of personal growth, professional expansion and prosperity.
PISCES ~ Due date. You've enjoyed a great deal of freedom and independence in recent years. For the most part, everyone in your life has gone along, or let you go your own way. However, during that time, you've quietly incurred some obligations. It will soon be time to start fulfilling those obligations. The rapidly changing world around you is about to start making demands that you must meet, too. Socially, as well as romantically, possibilities are also emerging. There must be room for your your new responsibilities in any new relationships.

More on February 2010 - For Everybody

Respite and Reconciliation
February 2010 will be many things to many people. Some will experience it as turbulent and challenging. Others will see a month with a steep learning curve. Some will break boundaries and dramatically expand their horizons, and/or the horizons of others. Many will rest, recoup and regroup. Many will finally be able to understand, absorb and begin to implement important life-lessons - to get a handle on life issues that have long escaped resolution. Most will find themselves reaching out to people they might have been ignoring, or whose interests and points of view they might have been neglecting.

But M=many are concerned that friends, neighbors, employers, governments - all of the above - have, indeed, been sliding toward the brink of serious, life-changing trouble. This is an especially disconcerting and uncomfortable experience. Most will remember February for the relief they felt as they witnessed people pull back from the brink.

Many are disturbed by the fact that, instead of recognizing and solving problems, people have been increasingly blind to the real issues. They have stubbornly resisted the influence of sense and reason. They have butted heads ever more vigorously, stubbornly entrenched in their own mindsets, not seeing the need to change their thinking, to listen to others, to new ideas, to compromise.

Many will remember February as the month in which we all put our minds back on the challenges before us, began listening to each other and, together, began pulling back from the brink of crises caused, and made increasingly inevitable, by an unwillingness to listen to others.

But perhaps most important of all, many will remember February as the month that the walls between people began to come down and the world began a process of reconciliation, rediscovering of the beauty and power of cooperation. Many will wonder how they survived so long without it, or note, wisely, that most of the problems of the recent past arose from the absence of cooperation.

All-in-all, February will usher in a welcome change from the era of blind, headlong, often solitary, close-minded pursuit of poorly considered goals. It will see the re-birth of genuine , inclusive dialogue in our lives.
Safety amidst Turmoil
February will also provide the safety many need to explore, to experiment and discuss. Feelings will often run high as barriers come down and people probe the beliefs and tolerances of others. Tempers might flare as people encounter strange and challenging ideas. Some might be tempted to go to extremes in defense of their ideas, or in pursuit of their goals.

However, February will also set pretty firm limits on the size of mistake we can make, on the damage, or harm, we can do to ourselves or others. It will provide protection from the worst possibilities, as we open begin to open ourselves more fully to the feelings and ideas of other people.

And whatever else happens, the major events of February 2010 are likely to be primarily subjective in nature, the kinds of spiritual and psychological things that happen when people really begin to expand their awareness to include things they have been ignoring or blocking.

February will be notable for these things, but at the beneficial processes will extending throughout most of 2010 at one level of intensity or another.

A little heads up. The vibes will be significantly more challenging the second half of the year, beginning in July and August. In fact, why don’t you just take a moment right now to mark “Crunch Time” on your calendars for July and August?
A Chart Appropriate to St. Valentine's Day
It seems to me to be no accident that this new moon, which urges us to reach out to others, takes place while the Sun is in Aquarius. Also, using Greenwich Mean Time, this new moon takes place in the small hours of St. Valentine's Day.

The dominant theme of this chart is quintessentially Aquarian and quite appropriate to St. Valentine's Day. It pushes us to break down the barriers of insensitivity and misunderstanding between ourselves and others.

The Astrological Details
Generally speaking, the aspects in the February 14 new moon chart are inexact, or "loose." However, they are strong enough to be quite effective, especially when taken in combination and especially at the macro level.

The inexactness of the aspects could make the patterns discussed above a little more difficult to perceive, but they will definitely be there, perhaps masked by a little confusion.
The Engines of Turmoil
The chart for the February new moon on 02/14/2010 includes a separating square between Pluto and retrograding Saturn. It also includes a rather broad square between Pluto and Uranus. This adds up to a very, very broad T-squarish formation between Saturn, Uranus and Pluto.

Although the aspects are loose, in one way or another, the planetary energies are powerful taken separately and, despite the inexactness of the aspects, when taken together, will definitely make themselves felt.

They will most likely manifest in our lives as background pressure, minor events, warnings, near misses and other kinds of reminders of the difficult and dangerous forces that are still affecting the world - strong enough reminders to concern us and keep us 'motivated.'

There is also a fairly exact, fairly strong opposition between Mars and Mercury. This aspect will add an element of impatience and irritability to the goings on, unfortunately.
Irreconcilable Conflicts
There are also a cluster of quincunxes, or inconjuncts. Quincunxes are darned-if-you-do-darned-if-you-don't aspects. They keep us in continuous state of indecision as we try to balance conflicting and seemingly irreconcilable interests. Generally speaking, they lead to both frustration and a greater understanding of the issues involved. In the end, though, they pretty much for a lesser-of-two-evils kind of choice.

Several of the quincunxes form up into a yod, with Venus and Jupiter at the "action point", and Mars and Saturn at the base. Yods are kind of super quincunxes. They all but paralyze progress as people try repeatedly and largely unsuccessfully to find a balance between conflicting interests. Like the quincunxes, yods lead to deeper understanding but, ultimately, lead on to difficult and sometimes awkward or uncomfortable choices.
The Safety Net - The Good News
Finally, there is a system of semi-sextile, sextile and trine relationships that add up to a so-called mystic rectangle. Some of the relationships in the mystic rectangle are rather "loose," or inexact. However, they are strong enough to be effective.

The mystic rectangle will set a limit to the damage we might suffer as a result of wrong decisions or unwise choices. It will also help keep people on the proper course. But, most importantly, perhaps, the mystic rectangle will slowly but surely push all concerned to a higher level of understanding and a more admirable and effective level of choice, speech and action.
Mutual Reception Again
The mutual reception between Uranus and Neptune, though in the process of breaking up, is still very much in effect and dominates both the new moon and full moon dispositor charts. Dispositor charts, of course, establish the planetary power structure or chain of command (pecking order) in a chart. They tell us which planets will have the last word.

The Uranus/Neptune mutual reception is a highly subjective influence, supporting the widespread retreat into highly personal, often very narrow and rigid world views, or private universes.

The dominance of this mutual reception relationship tells us that this tendency will remain strong. But the other tensions in the chart, and the fact that the mutual reception is gradually phasing out, tell us that people are increasingly uncomfortable in their personal mental universes and are preparing to break out of them. This, in turn, tells us that the self-centeredness, closed attitudes and harsh partisanship that have so dominated recently will start breaking down.

People are preparing to start reaching out again, and feeling more inclined to take the needs and the ideas of other people into account than they have in many a day.

That is a good thing.

Happy Valentine’s day!
